Patwari among four booked by Crime Branch

Jammu, May 24: Crime Branch Jammu has booked four persons including Patwari for forging Revenue records and committing fraud. Crime Branch, Jammu has registered a case FIR No. 10/2014 u/s 419, 420, 423, 465, 466, 468, 471, 120-B RPC r/w section 5(2) P.C Act against the accused. According to official spokesperson, the accused have been identified namely as Harpal Singh S/o Raja Singh R/o 50/3 Model Town, Jammu, Vijay Kumar S/o Roshan Lal R/o Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, Kanav Sharma S/o Sh. Narayan Brat Sharma R/o H. No 93 Sec. 7 Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, and Shabir Ahmed then Patwari halqa Chowadi for preparing fake/ fabricated revenue documents. A complaint duly endorsed by Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu was received in Crime Branch, Jammu wherein the complainant S Gurbachan Singh s/o Late Thakur Singh r/o Bhau, RS Pura Jammu at present Channi Himmat, Jammu alleged that he was the lawful attorney of Smt Balwinder Kour w/o S Satinder Singh r/o Mamka, R.S Pura, Jammu and was in peaceful possession of her land measuring 1 Kanal 4 Marlas at Village Chowadhi, District Jammu. On receipt of the said complaint, an enquiry was initiated in Crime Branch, Jammu, it was found that Smt Balwinder Kour was the original owner of the land in question who had executed a general power of attorney in favour of the complainant S Gurbachan Singh.
It also came to fore that accused Harpal Singh identified accused Kanav Sharma whereas accused Vijay Kumar acted as a witness and sold the plot to Kanav Sharma and that accused Shabir Ahmed then Patwari halqa issued the fard. All the accused persons with malafide intentions and in furtherance of a criminal conspiracy got prepared fake/ fabricated revenue documents and sale deed was executed by resorting to fraudulent means thereby causing wrongful loss to the complainant and wrongful gains to themselves.
