| JK LJSP invites party president to visit Jammu | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 24 : Jammu and Kashmir unit of Lok Jan Shakti Party has invited the National party President Ram Vilas Paswan and his son Chirag Paswan to visit Jammu soon to boost the morale of the party workers. Addressing a media conference here today J&K Pradesh President Sham Lal Gupta stated that Ram Vilas Paswan and Chirag Paswan will soon visit Jammu, to chalk out the strategy for the forthcoming assembly elections in J&K, which the J&K unit of party would like to fight in alliance with BJP. Gupta further said that the local unit of the party will apprise Ram Vilas Paswan and Chirag Paswan about the problems facing the people at large in Jammu region, particularly the discriminations meted out to the region by Kashmir centric ruling dispensations in the state. These include denial ot reservations to Dalit sections of the society and their disproportionate representation in government jobs. The other problem to be highlighted is denial of citizenship and permanent state resident rights to the 1947 refugees from West Pakistan settled in Jammu most of whom are scheduled caste. Under representation of Jammu region in the state assembly is still another problem and LJSP demands constitution of fresh delimitation commission for assembly seats.
The state unit of the party will urge upon the part MPs to take up these issues in the Parliament as well as with the government, of which Ram Vilas Paswan and Chirag Paswan are going io be parts.
Sham Lal Gupta also highlighted the problems facing the people in Bilawar and Bani tehsils of Kathua Distt. The roads in far off areas in these Tehsils are in a bad shape. He regretted that Dr. Manhor Lai Sharma who is MLA from Billawar for last 12 years and is also MoS in the coalition government in the state has failed to highlight and solve the problems facing people in his constituency. Most of the roads in the area are still not tarred and got concrete. |
