| Bail denied to husband, sister in law in abetment to suicide case | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 24 : Special Municipal Mobile Magistrate Kamlesh Pandita today rejected the bail application of Rahul Sharma husband of deceased Sarishtha Devi and his sister in law Ashoo Sharma w/o Parveen Kumar (bhabi of accused) in abetment to suicide case. After hearing Senior P/O Rohit Gupta for the state, Special Municipal Mobile Magistrate Kamlesh Pandita observed that the offences alleged to have been committed by the accused persons are of very serious nature and court is duty bound to minutely scan the fact and circumstances under which the offences have been committed and its impact on the society at large. And with these observations court rejected the bail application of accused persons According to the police case that on April 5, 2014 concerned police station came to know from PCR that the deceased namely Sarishtha Devi being grievously injured in burning, was under treatment in emergency ward in GMC&H Jammu. On this Incharge PP rushed to GMC&H Jammu and recorded statement of victim in presence of 1st class Executive Magistrate wherein victim leveled serious allegations against her husband with regard to cruelty, with an aid and abetment of his family members. The victim stated she was married with Rahul Sharma on June 21, 2010 and one child has been born. It was also stated that on April 4, 2014, her husband came at home in an drunken condition during navratras and on being objected by her, the accused abused her and she got disturbed resulting into sprinkling of kerosene oil over her and lit her body on fire. During the course of investigation it also surfaced that the accused person had illicit relation with her bhabi which was per the investigation was also a reason for taking extreme step by the victim and police registered a case u/s 306 RPC.
