| Vohra to complete his tenure as Guv | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 24): With the change of guard in the centre some senior BJP leaders expect to get appointed as Governors which indicates that some of the existing governors may either be asked to resign or were likely to be relieved. However, NN Vohra, whose term as Governor of Jammu and Kashmir has been extended by five years only last year is unlikely to be touched by the new BJP led NDA Government. Official sources said that Vohra is among a few senior retired bureaucrats who has remained noncontroversial. Even though he was appointed as Governor of Jammu and Kashmir by the Congress led UPA Government his tenure as constitutional head of the state has remained impartial as far as his approach in dealing with different political parties is concerned. As Governor Vohra has earned respect from the ruling coalition and the opposition PDP and the BJP. |
