| Congress to take final call on future alliance with NC today | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, May 26: With the state Congress chief Prof Saif-ud-din Soz and former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad holding detailed deliberations with the Congress state cadre especially its senior leadership, an important announcement vis-à-vis party's alliance with the National Conference is likely to be made in New Delhi on May 27. Sources informed that after Soz and Azad held detailed group and one-on-one meetings with the state cadre of Congress including Congress ministers and ground level workers, the duo on Monday have submitted a detailed report to AICC president Sonia Gandhi about the present status of the Congress party in the state. Sources told that in the report, the reasons behind the party's debacle in Jammu, Udhampur and Ladakh were mentioned in detail. The report also stresses upon the party's functioning with its coalition partner National Conference and that all dimensions of the present coalition have been in detail mentioned. Sources further told that an important announcement will be made in New Delhi, where both Soz and Azad are camping at present, about the Congress party's future relations with the national conference. Reliable sources informed further that the senior Congress leadership at Delhi will announcement its future ties with its ally national conference and also whether the forthcoming polls will be contested by the party itself or it will forge a pre-poll alliance with NC. |
