Srinagar, May 26: As Farooq and Omar Abdullah are busy these days in meeting flood of delegations and handling administrative affairs themselves, internal bickering within the grand old party is growing fast with rumors gaining impetus each passing day that die hard supporters and staunch loyalist families switching over to other parties. Demands are also getting loud to change the provincial heads of the party within the party which is in introspection mode at present. Sources said that after recently NC patron Farooq Abdullah lashed out on MLAs of his party, including senior party leader Ali Muhammad Sagar, Mubarak Gul, Shameema Firdous, MLA Sonwar and MLA Hazratbal, Mustafa Kamal and accused them losing age old ground and grip of NC across Srinagar city, a war of words has already began among leaders of the party. Sources said that as Farooq Abdullah recently said that MLAs were responsible for his defeat by the hands of People's Democratic Party candidate, Tariq Hameed Qara, party leadership other than Farooq and Omar Abdullah are unanimous to reshuffle the Provincial body and elect new people in places of Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Showkat Ahmad Mir who is presently Provincial secretary,Ghulam Nabi Bhat as Joint secretary, Rasheed Haroon as additional joint secretary and District President as well. "You can imagine depth of internal bickering gaining impetus within NC these days from a fact that not only in city but also across Kashmir everybody agrees that NC is alive in kashmir only because of one senior leader of NC,Ali Muhammad Sagar who is respected across the Srinagar for his developmental works and is responsible for handling vote bank of constituencies other than his own Khanyar area."Sources said At a time when both Farooq and Omar Abdullah meet arround 60 to 90 delegations of different walks of life throughout the day these days, party leadership is facing huge challenges and shocks too. According to sources many families of Srinagar, Baramullah, Pulwama, Kulagam, Rajouri ,Poonch ,Gandderbal and Budgam which are considered are roots of NC despite meeting Abdullah's after Farooq Abdullah himself was defeated first time in his political career are also about to switch over to other political parties. "Lobby of Ali Muhammad Sagar within NC which include Ali Muhammad Sagar himself, Mubarak Gul, Abdul Raheem Rather and others are not even happy with Omar's way of dealing with people and they consider asking people feedback through internet etc as a useless activity, they believe in meeting people as person and make inroads before asking for votes.... they are also strictly against VIP culture which most of the leaders now feel is also a responsible factor for recent defeat to NC." Sources added sources said that as trend of switching over to other political parties by workers has already begun at all the three divisions of the state, time is not far when NC core group committee will have to hire people to campaign for them and work for them on ground in case ongoing internal bickering is not tackled with utmost care and without any discrimination.
