Jammu, May 26: Continuing their struggle the short- listed candidates for Jail Warden Posts today resolved that they will continue to highlight their grievances till their demand of releasing the list will be conceded to. Addressing Protestors today, Ashwani Kumar lamented despite other difficulties the short listed candidates of jail warder post in prison department they will continue their struggle till their logic goal is achieved. "Even, many political and non-political organizations have supported the demands raised by these candidates, but still the government has turned to deaf ears, he said. The statement said, "They were demanding release of the final selection list, which was pending for the last more than four years for no reasons. Re-iterating their resolve to continue with their agitation, the spokesperson warned the Govt not to test their patience and release of final selection list failing which the agitators will further intensify their agitation. Ashwani Kumar informed that about 41182 unemployed youth had applied for the Post, advertised in local dailies in 2005 and 1247 candidates were short listed for the interview, which was held in the Month of September 2010. However, he added, even after more than three years since the interviews, the Final Selection List has not yet been released. Selected Candidates urged the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, MOS Home Sajad Ahmad Kichloo, Principal Secretary Home Suresh Kumar 8s Director General Prison P L Gupta to personally look into the matter for getting the selection list released. "No recruitment has taken place in the Prison Department since 1995 and there are more than 2000 vacancies, the department is facing acute shortage of manpower but the State Government knowing the fact is delaying final seledion of the candidates," another added. |
