| CM may curb corruption even now: Vakil | | | Early Times Report Rafiabad, May 26: Senior Vice President J&K Pradesh Congress Committee, Member AICC and Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today reiterated that Congress will never prefer to be a Team-B in any future arrangement or coalition in the state. He said because of B Team role in existing coalition, the image of Congress has got dented to a greater extent. He said rather compromising on B-Team status Congress must work with zeal and zest to regain its strong base and in forthcoming Assembly Elections it is inevitable for us to highlight the achievements of the Congress party's rule which it made during brief tenure of Ghulam Nabi Azad. He said overwhelming popularity and familiarity of the Congress needs to be translated into votes in the state so that party could become a vibrant force in all the three regions. Vakil said if the government is seriously interested in cleaning its image then first it should take stringent action against corrupt because one of the major reason for poll debacle was no action against corrupt politicians and officials. Vakil suggested that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is still available with sufficient time to curb corruption to maintain accountability but the same depends on willpower. |
