| Disintegration of PK into factions dilutes demand for Homeland | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 26: With division in Panun Kashmir into three factions the 25 year long struggle of Kashmiri Pandits for carving out a homeland within Valley has received a great setback. The disintegration of the organisation has resulted into rise of fringe organisations into the community who have deviated from the basic policies of PK and are trying to seek their pound of flesh and create a confusion within the displaced community as well as Government. According to sources mushrooming of KP organisations has not only harmed the KPs 25 year long struggle for carving out a separate homeland within Valley, but also weakened the cause of community before the Union as well as State Government. Failure to display unity in the rank and file of the community and solidly stand by homeland demand, Kashmiri Pandits leading an exiled life for last 25 years have harmed their own cause, sources added. This division in the community has also given an opportunity to the Government in not showing any seriousness to the rehabilitation of the displaced Pandits in Valley where from they have forced to flee over 25 years back, sources said adding, the fringe organisations within taken the community have t full advantage of the same in entering a bargain with the Government. Sources said realising this blunder the PK factions have decided to join hands and launch a decisive battle for homeland which is the only right solution to their problems. Sources said to show a united face two factions of PK have decided to work jointly and struggle on a common platform for homeland cause. However efforts within the two factions of PK are on to bring the third faction of it on the same platform to launch a united struggle for homeland. Sources said some well meaning people within the community are also working overtime in pursing all three factions to join hands and give a united response to Government on return move. The majority of KP organisations have expressed their apprehensions over the return move and urged Mr Modi to review the package made by former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh by taking the security concerns and geo-political aspirations of the community into consideration. The majority of KPs are still of the view that united PK can only lead the struggle for homeland and check the fringe organisations hobnobbing with those forces who are renowned for their anti KP attitude. Sources said that some well meaning people in the community in this regard have decided to meet the leaders of all three actions of PK and their friendly organisations within community asking them to come on a single platform for community cause. They have expressed serious apprehensions on return of community to their native places in the Valley saying that this will expose them to security risk and also lead to another exodus of the community. The KP factions opposed to return move at this juncture term it premature. They also stressed that the cross sections of the community be taken into confidence in this regard. |
