| Eight injured over land dispute in Sankri area | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, May 26 : Eight persons including a handicapped were injured in a clash between two groups in village Sankari over a land dispute today. The clash took place on Sunday when the members of one group forcibly tried to occupy the piece of land belong to one handicapped Mabool Hussain when he objected nefarious plots of other group members. Sources said that both the families are in vendetta over a piece of land in villager Sankari under the jurisdiction of Rajouri police station. Head of another group Khalid Hussain along with his supporters on Sunday forcefully tried to take control of the land. Villagers informed the police about the clash and a police party rushed to the village and rescued the injured to district hospital. In another such incident, Mohd Sadiq of village Piri under the jurisdiction of Kotranka Police Station has appealed to the administration to provide security to his family as some people forcibly trying to grab their land. He alleged that some villagers in nexus with revenue official are trying to grab their land. He added that the matter was brought in the notice of police but no action was taken and the family has been facing threat from the land grabbers. |
