Mendhar, May 28: With an aim to create awareness and interest among the rural youths in writing skills, journalism and communication system, Charkha Development Communication Network - a Delhi based organisation held a workshop on Wednesday in Mendhar of district Poonch in which 25 local youths participated. The workshop is being conducted by Charkha's Urdu Editor Anies ul Rehman Khan, in coordination with Ms Zahida Koser, Abdual Rashid, Abdual Aziz local writer Rameez Raja and local coordinator Nazam Mir Participants from the far flung villages including Bhera, Ari, Gohlad Naroal Baloni Sagra , Mankote Kalalban, Harni and Dharna enthusiastically participated in this orientation programme held as Sixth workshop by the host organization in Mendhar of Poonch District Representing Media on the occasion, correspondent Daily Excelsior from Mendhar (Poonch) M S Nazki and correspondent Hind samachar Nazim Manhas lauded the initiative and described ot would go a long way for pruning youngsters from this remote area in the field of journalism. On the first day, participants discussed issues and put forth the idea of highlighting them through mass medium. In the next three days, participants will get to learn about different government schemes, will go out on a field visit to interact with local communities and know more about media. |
