SRINAGAR, May 28: Dr Jitendra Singh's statement on Article 370 has given NC something to sell to the people to regain lost ground. After registering protest on streets today, the NC held a meeting of the core group to discuss the statement which NC believes is a backdoor strategy of the BJP Government. Interestingly the BJP leadership has not reacted on the statement so far.
Hours after Dr Jitendra Singh raised a huge political storm by seeking a debate on the future of Article 370, Singh though later in the evening on Tuesday said that he had been "misquoted." He said that the entire controversy was baseless and added that "I seek to clarify that the reports in the media about my statement on Article 370 are misquoted. I have never said anything quoting the Honorable Prime Minister and the controversy is totally baseless. Pertinently besides rebuttal of Singh, no statement from any other BJP office bearer was issued in this connection, yet according to sources after facing rout in recently conducted Parliamentary elections, NC is using all means and methods to regain lost power and reach to the people of the state and flood of statements on Dr Jitendra Singh's article 370 statement is one such attempt of NC to come up with new methods of power grabbing among common masses ahead of Assembly elections. |
