Jammu, May 28: Rajesh Kumar IPS, IGP Jammu Zone who was the chief guest on the final match of J&K Police Martyrs Memorial Cricket Tournament presented mementoes and trophies to the winners of the aforesaid cricket tournament. "A final match of the J&K Police Martyrs Memorial Cricket tournament under Civic Action Programme (CAP) was organized by District Police Ramban at District Police Lines, Ramban, was played between the teams of Cricket Club Batote and Cricket Club Chareel Banihal and Cricket Club Chareel Banihal claimed the title by defeating their rival by 24 runs, police spokesperson said. Rajesh Kumar IPS, IGP Jammu Zone was the Chief guest of the tournament among others dignitaries DIG DKR Range, Deputy Commissioner Ramban SSP Ramban and other officers of Army/Armed forces/CPMF, Civil administration, Civilians and Senior Citizens of the area were present on the occasion. In an impressive valedictory occasion, the chief guest gave away the prizes among the winner and runners up besides other participating teams. "A cash prizes of Rs.50,000/- and Rs.30,000/- awarded to winner and runner-up teams respectively. Thereafter the chief guest IGP Jammu, also distributed sports kits to Govt High School Dharam (Gool), Govt. Higher Secondary School Mahu (Khari), Govt. High School Thulal (Ukhral) and Govt. Middle school Ghari (Rajgarh) under Civic Action Programme (CAP) to promote sports activities in government schools. Spokesperson added that besides, this IGP Jammu Rajesh Kumar also distributed some gift items to the families of Police martyrs as well as families of Martyrs SPOs of District Ramban as a token of respect and regard to the martyrs.
