Jammu, May 28: Gandhi Memorial College of Education Jammu (GMCE-J) a sister concern of Himalayan Educational Society Kashmir (HESK) introduced a regular 3 yrs Bachelors Programme in Mass communication & Multimedia Production from the academic session starting from May 2014, for the students of J&K. "The course is recognized by the Higher Education Department, J&K Govt and is affiliated to the University of Kashmir. GMCE-J is the third Degree College and the first private institution in the J&K State to offer a degree course in MCMP, a statement said. It may be pertinent to mention that the institution has been established by Himalayan Education Society Kashmir (HESK) a society of philanthropic Kashmiri Pandits serving to the cause of quality education in the State for last seventy years, GMCEJ has already established in its Jammu campus, a state of the art recording studio, with related facilities for the intending students. The statement said that students of MCMP shall get exposure to the print media from the first year itself, as the college has its own registered daily newspaper "Frontier Post". In a meeting held at the HESK office of GMCE-J under the chairmanship of Prof B L Zutshi, an eminent educationist and other members of society namely Prof Sunil Ticku, Dr Satish Bhan, Virender Raina, Prof G L Koul, Principal, GMCE-J and Satish Talashi administrator to chalk out the strategies for the forth coming academic session 2014-15. Bihari Kak a well known media personality and M L Jalali, social activist besides others members of community were present in this meeting. It was also apprised to the members that Institute shall provide expertise of renowned Advisory Board and guest faculty apart from in campus hostel facility to girl students. The sanctioned student intake for the course is 30 and the University of Kashmir shall conduct the examinations. The course fee, as authorized by Kashmir University, is Rs 45,000 per year. |
