Jammu, June 2: Residents of Indira Nagar expressed dismay over the negligible approach of the concerned authorities with regard is the construction of lanes and other development works in the area. The residents allege that they are facing immense complexity as a result of the lanes which have been unattended for the last one year. The area becomes hell during rainy season as drains are still incomplete. The residents are facing problems while walking and even driving two wheelers and four wheelers. The stones are lying here and there which can become cause of accident anytime. "We cannot describe in words what sort of complexity we are facing due to the incompletion of the lane. The concerned authorities did not pay any attention forwards the difficulties faced by the people for the past one year "said Nirvair Singh, a resident of Indira Nagar. The agencies have forgotten to complete the work and left the lane unattended, said Sanjeev Ranyal another resident. People residing here are still waiting for the work to be completed so that further inconvenience should be cleared. But no one is bothered about the problems being faced by the people. The entry to this area is marred by pot holes, stones, dust and much which irks commuters. Few people of the area even approached the local Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA), Raman Bhalla, who is also the minister in Omar Abdullah's government but the response was negative. "Where should we go?" asks a resident, adding, "Neither minister nor officials are paying heed to our demands. Dust have entered our houses and every now and as the monsoon is approaching this part of the world, our living will become much difficult." |
