| BJP leaves Jammu hopeless, pins hope on Kashmir leadership | | RSS' secret meet in Valley | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 2: After getting votes from the people of Jammu region, the BJP has diverted its attention towards Kashmir valley to explore possibilities of expand its base beyond Jawahar Tunnel. BJP has opened channel of communication with some Valley based leaders without taking Jammu leadership into confidence. Credible sources in the BJP said that a couple of days back, a senior leader of the RSS "secretly" visited Kashmir valley and interacted with some Muslim leaders there. Although Jammu leadership was not aware of the secret visit of this RSS leader in the Valley, a prominent party activist went there to facilitate meetings of RSS leader with some prominent Valley based Muslim leaders. A group within BJP high command and RSS is of the opinion that leadership of Jammu and Kashmir should be handed over to some leaders of Kashmir valley because leadership in Jammu region was incapable and incompetent so this group was all out to lure some Valley based Muslims to give them charge of state BJP. Secondly this pro-Kashmiri group in RSS and BJP is very much aware that people of Jammu region can be easily exploited in the name of nationalism and Hinduism and they (people of Jammu) have no other option except BJP so they are giving importance to Valley based leaders. Credible sources did not rule out possibility that some leaders of ruling coalition were also facilitating such meetings because "there is no permanent friend and enemy in politics". Interestingly neither Jammu based leaders of BJP nor was its affiliated organizations are aware of this high profile secret visit to Kashmir valley. Sources furthers said visiting leaders have assured Valley based leaders that all their issues would be addressed. They have, reportedly, said that leadership in Jammu was not in a position to expand base of BJP in whole state so there are some Kashmiri leaders who should shoulder the responsibility. |
