Jammu, June 2: Jammu Police today claimed to have achieved a major success by solving a different cases electronics shop burglaries that had recently occurred in district Jammu and Kishtwar as well, here today with the arrest of four person including a KAS aspirant and recovering stolen electronic gadgets worth lakhs. Police identified the arrested accused namely as Asif Iqbal Bhat s/o Mohd Iqbal Bhat of village Hadyal Kishtwar, Salman Latief Bhat, KAS aspirants and student of Commerce College, Jammu, s/o Abdul Latief Bhat of village Hadyal, Kishtwar , Sameer Ahmed Shah s/o Mohd Rajab Shah of village Mangthalla Filler ,Kishtwar and Arif Ali Malik s/o Ghulam Ali Malik of village Bunastan, Kishtwar. "After their arrest the police following their disclosures effected recovery of stolen electronic gadgets including laptop and etc, police said, adding, "the arrests and recoveries were made effective by a police team of Janipur led by SHO Hilal Azhar and SI Rahul Mahajan." SSP Jammu Atul Goel while addressing media persons here today said, " The modus operandi of the gang was to break into the electronics shops during nigh hours and dump the goods at a rented room in Commerce College Hostel where one of the members was putting up.' After breaking into their target, the members of gang follow wait and watch policy for some time and then shift the stolen goods to Kishtwar or elsewhere through busses plying between Jammu and Kishtwar. "During questioning, the accused have confessed their crime i.e. to have committed the burglaries in the areas under the jurisdiction of PS Janipur, PP Canal, PP Rehari, PP Talab Tillo, PP Sarwal, along with similar burglaries in district Ksihtwar. In the district Kishtwar, they broke into at two Khidmat Centre of Jammu and Kashmir bank and stole electronic items, SSP Jammu said. He added, further, investigations are on to ascertain their involvement in other crimes in the area. Replying to a query about KAS aspirants Salman being involved in this burglary racket, he said, "his involvement in crime started after he stole LCD screen from the hostel of Commerce College Jammu along with others. " Easy money could be the reason in these burglaries but police is investigating the matter, he added. "Two motorcycles used in the crime. Stolen electronic items worth lakhs of rupees, which police recovered from them including 3 LCDs,11 LED, one Intex Speaker with woofer, one Microwave oven, one Beetel Head phones, one Induction Cooker, one Acer Laptop, one Mobile Handset,20 Pendrives,10 MMC and one Split Air Conditioners (Voltas)," revealed senior police officer. "Police have registered a case in this regard," police said, adding, "besides the accused are being questioned under section 550 CrPC.' Meanwhile police also have recovered additional stolen goods including 3 Laptops, invertors, battery, HP TFT Monitors. |
