| Residents of Aitti, adjoining areas decry 'water, power scarcity' | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, June 2: Alleging Shabir Ahmed Khan, MLA Rajouri and former Health Minister has never made efforts to resolve the plight of people of his constituency, locals from village Aitti and its adjoining areas on the Rajouri-Thanamndi road alleging acute water scarcity and electricity courtesy his failure to mitigate their basic problems.
Irked over unscheduled and prolonged power curtailments and water scarcity, the locals alleged that the Sahbir Khan , MLA rajouri and former Health Minister has never paid visit to their area comprising of three panchyats since his victory in the last Assembly election.
"Though the village has dug well of the PHE department but it went out of service about a month ago due to burning of motor and people were left with no option except to collect water from natural sources in this scotching heat, they added.
"The Power Department has failed to provide transformer at this dug well to increase the voltage resulting into damage to the motor of well" said Captin (Retd) Talib Hussain running a shop on the road side. Meanwhile people are likely to hold a protest tomorrow against the PHE departments for its failure to provide drinking water
Bashir Ahmed, Kabir and other villagers also said that no minister including MLA and Madan Lal defeated MP visited their areas during just Lok Sabha elections.
They however mocked Now when the Assembly elections are coming near the leaders from all the parties including sitting MLA will start to woe the voters. |
