| Madan for 'Regional Council' to end discrimination with Jammu | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 2: Asserting to bring governance to grass root level to curb disconnect and regional discrimination, Former MP and veteran Congress leader Madan Lal Sharma today underlined the need of Regional Council for ending discrimination with Jammu with regard to development, infrastructure building and addressing aspirations of the people. While addressing a gathering of Congress workers of Jammu (East) at City Palace Jammu, Sharma added that apart from Modi wave the anger of the people was also for disconnect between Government and common man. "The State Government to depute their Ministers to farflung areas and pay heed to the demand of employees and poor, he said adding, "Improvement in Ration and other public delivery systems is also dire of need of the hour." Underlining the demand for Regional Council, Congress leader said that it will bring governance to grass root level and disconnect and regional discrimination will come to end. "Governments are Kashmir Centric and they do not pay heed to 90 percent of the Jammu's specific issues like those of Refugees, Border people , SCs, STs and other economically weaker sections of the society, he said, adding, " resulting anger brewing among the people.' He appealed the Government to create Regional Council for Jammu on the pattern of Leh and Kargil Autonomous hill development council. Meanwhile referring to the ongoing debate on Article 370, former Congress MP said that this is just to divert the attention of people from development for vote bank politics. Yogesh Sawhney Ex Minister also addressed the people and raised various demands related to Urban poor and sought early intervention of State Government to resolve the same. Parnav Sagotra Vice President PYC, Kanta Bhan, General Secretary, Pawan Dev Singh, Block President, Y.B Sharma President CCI, District and Ward Committee Mahilla Wing Jammu and many others participated in this meeting. |
