Poonch, June 2:Notwithstanding government' claims to develop far flung areas of the state, the authorities concerned have failed to ensure proper upkeep of surroundings in Mendhar bus stand. "Picture on ground speaks otherwise as step motherly treatment is being meted out to Bus Stand Mendhar, which surprises the common man.
The bus stand which is in the heart of Mendhar town is filled with garbage and nobody in the Tehsil administration has ever turned their attention for clearing it", said a local. Locals say thousands of people travel from Bus stand Mendhar daily towards various areas but authorities are least concerned about providing a clean atmosphere to the passengers. "Bad and foul smell from garbage poses serious threats to the health of people", they said. Subash, a resident of Mendhar, said: "It is most unfortunate that the tehsil administration never bothered to clean this area.
This is the heart of Mendhar city and if this area suffers from administrative apathy, then one can easily understand the affairs of administration in other parts of Mendhar" Mohd Alyas Jatt a reacher said; "Mostly I remain in the bus stand area and sometimes I feel perplexed as to why administration is not doing anything to clean this area. There are other areas also near the main bazar where heaps of garbage can be seen". The people demanded in one voice that the bus stand area should be clean on priority as huge dump of garbage is posing a great risk to the health of a common man. |
