| Paperless Parliament to become reality soon | | | Agencies NEW DELHI, June 2: The new Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking decisions that promise to make the parliament more efficient and he is working towards making the Parliament a paperless office. Tech-savvy Modi is known for his connect with social media and work during his tenure as the chief minister of Gujarat. He is now working on promoting e-governance, which is more advanced. He aims at reducing the use of papers by urging for using soft copies instead of bulky documents. According to reports, directives have been sent for providing tablets to MPs with preloaded applications. They can use the pre-loaded tabs with online messaging facilities instead of the paper slips, live broadcasting of the house sessions, and providing training to the parliamentarians. Another report suggests that the MPs will have the liberty to ask for hard copies of documents if they do not wish to use soft copies. Experts say the debutant Modi Cabinet will be comfortable with the new technology and help in making the offices paperless. |
