KATHUA, June 2: In order to protect the birds and to meet their water requirements, a movement "Save Birds" was launched today by Akhil Bhartya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) by keeping a water bowl full of water in households. The campaign was launched by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kathua Narinder Singh Bali in the DC complex here today. While appreciating this move of ABVP to save the birds, ADDC Bali said the life of a bird is as important as life of human beings because both have logically interrelated and their survival is based on this deep and natural relation between birds and human beings. Water is sometimes a problem for birds, especially in summers when the ponds and other sources of water dry up said activists of ABVP Pooja Mahajan and Preeti Raina. They said that the importance and need of the birds to maintain the ecosystem and their deep relationship with human beings cannot be ignored. They also appealed every family of the Kathua to keep a water facility for birds in their house. |
