| BMS decides to hold protest on Jun 9 | | Malfunctioning of PF Organization | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 2: Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) criticized the Provident Fund Organization for its malfunctioning in the state as a result poor subscribers are at the receiving end as they are facing huge hardship with the pendency of thousands of cases and decided to gherao the office of PF Board member on June 9. While addressing a Press Conference, its president Karnail Chand alleged that the functioning of Provident Fund organization has come down to grinding halt as new offices have been opened in districts without required manpower and non application of mind nor proper infrastructure as well as furniture. He further said that undue posting and transfers are going on in the department with vested interest and with the result poor subscribers are facing too much hardship and thousands of cases are laying pending in Jammu and Samba offices the open loot is going on and cases are being settled on pick and choose basis. He also pointed on the functioning of dummy PF Board of trustees and Board Members particularly Employees representative are responsible for not giving agenda items in writing before meeting of the board and in coming days BMS will gherao the board members as core issues not raised. BMS highlighted the main issues including new employments in schedule employment which has not been revised since 1990, rate of interest is not being declared from the last 5 years and on a/c 8% interest is given, PF Organization is earning more than 9% on deposits and paying 8% to subscribers, PF investment is not being done as per the guide line framed in 2008 by the than Chief Minister , pension scheme 1995 is implemented throughout the country but in J&K it is not implemented so for , 1% is being collected as EDLI from employers. Those who present on the occasion included Karnail Chand, Bushan Sharma, Harbans Choudhary, Shamsher Chand ,Major Singh, Ashok Choudhary and Sachin Bali. |
