| Two held alongwith 90 Kg of banned forest produce | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 9: Continuing staunch drive against the drug menace, timber smuggling and illicit sale of forest produce, the Police claimed to have arrested two persons alongwith 90 kgs of 'Nagshatri' a banned forest produce in Thathri of Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.The two accused have been identified namely as Abdul Latief Sheikh s/o Ghulam Qadir Sheikh and Mohd Azad s/o Sher Mohd both of Shapan (Ghata) Bhaderwah. ''Based on tip off, team of Police Station Thathri laid a naka at Kalnai Bridge Thathri today and intercepted one TATA mobile bearing regd no. JK06-3965,'' police spokesperson here today said. He added that during the search of vehicle police recovered 90 Kgs of Nagchattri from the vehicle which was hidden clandestinely in the said vehicle and police team arrested the occupants of vehicle on the spot. "The TATA mobile used in the commission of crime was also seized, police said.In this connection a case FIR No. 40/2014 U/S 379 RPC, 6 Forest Act stands registered at Police Station Thathri and investigation of the case is in progress |
