| KVK Reasi organizes training programme | | | Early Times Report
Reasi, June 13: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu organized training programme on entrepreneurship development in agriculture at village Muttal of Udhampur district. More than 30 farmers participated in the programme. Dr. Banarsi Lal elaborated all about the entrepreneurship development in agriculture and gave a detailed view of commercial agriculture. He said that most of the farmers of hilly areas are still doing the subsistence agriculture due to which their economic condition is poor. He narrated that farmers should get knowledge of the scientific agriculture from different sources of agriculture by which they can upgrade their crop yields. He further said that the district yield of different crops is lower than national yield and there is a dire need to increase the crop yields. He further added that the farmers of present era should have the concept of diversification in agriculture and suggested the farmers that the district has lot of scope for floriculture, horticulture, mushroom cultivation, sericulture, beekeeping and vegetable growing. He narrated the success stories of some successful famers of the district. He aware the farmers that by doing traditional agriculture they will be unable to mitigate the problem of poverty. He said that the farmers should use scientific methods for maize, pulses and vegetables production. He suggested the farmers that they should take agriculture as an entrepreneurship. KVK Reasi has laid one hectare of maize and 0.5 hectare of black gram in this village. |
