Early Times Report JAMMU, June 13 (JNF): Principal Sessions Judge Poonch Jaffer Hussain Beigh today awarded life-imprisonment to Javed Ahmed, Mehraj Din, Anwar-ul-Haq, Saraj Din, Mohd Mehboob, Makhan Din, Baz Hussain, Umer Bakesh and Abdul Majid in much publicized broad day light murder of one Abdul Rehman over a issue of Rs 6.40 lacs. Court also issued general arrest warrants against Nissar Hussain. According to the police case, complainant Abdul Qayoom (brother of the deceased Abdul Rehman) on April 25, 2010 at the Police Station Mendhar that the non-applicants/accused Mohd Javed, Saraj Din,Baz Hussain, Mehraj Din, Anwar-ul-Haq, Mohd Nissar, Umer Bakesh, Mohd Mehboob, Mohd Bashir, Mohd Azam, Abdul Majid, Mohd Nazir, Mohd Mushtaq, Makhan Din, Jamal Din, Mohd Naseer, Mohd Din, Mohd Zuffer, Karam Noor and Mst. Zahien, are closely related to the complainant who is residing at Dharana Tehsil Mendhar whereas the accused are the residents of Village Ari, Dharana, Gholed and Harni. Accused No.2 had borrowed Rs.6,40,000 from his brother Abdul Rehman alias Haji Khani for purchase of land at Village Ari about one year ago which was to be returned on 31.12.2009 was also agreed by the accused No.2 in many Panchayats; that on the previous day, i.e. on 25.4.2010 a Panchayat was fixed at Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Mendhar where the accused 1 to 20 with common criminal intention at about 2.30 PM entered in the said school, the accused 1 to 20 attacked him and his brother with intention to commit their murder. Accused 2 to 20 caught hold the arms, legs and head of his brother and the accused No.1 attacked his brother on his abdomen with knife and the accused 1to 20 did not allow his brother to escape till his death where after the accused raised slogans of joy and also tried to commit the murder of the complainant but the complainant escaped otherwise he too would have been killed. Principal sessions Judge Poonch Jaffer Hussain Beigh after hearing Anuj Kapoor Special Public Prosecutor for the State whereas Advocate Rakesh Khajuria for the accused observed that the case does not fall within the category of 'rarest of rare case' and accordingly sentence each of the accused, Javed Ahmed, Mehraj Din, Anwar-ul-Haq, Saraj Din, Mohd Mehboob, Makhan Din, Baz Hussain, Umer Bakesh and Abdul Majid to undergo rigorous imprisonment for life and also to pay a fine of Rs.5000/- for the commission of offence under section 302 RPC. |
