| JUCET center eludes Kishtwar, over 2000 students face inconvenience | | | Asif Iqbal Naik
Kishtwar, June 18: Jammu University authorities have denied Kishtwar a centre for the Joint Entrance Examination for admission to its Post graduate courses (JUCET), putting over two thousand aspirants from the district to gross inconvenience. While talking to "Early Times", several aspirants slamed Jammu University authorities for denying JUCET center to Kishtwar District. Many students on the condition of anonymity said that despite repeated request to the University authorities, the JUET center was denied to Kishtwar. They said that Kishtwar District is a hilly and unconnected area and it is very difficult for the students to reach Jammu. "It took me three days to reach Kishtwar by foot and it will take one more day to reach Jammu for appearing in the test" said a student hailing from remote Marwah area of Kishtwar District. He said that Marwah, Warwan, Dachhan areas of the District were without road connectivity and students living in this area face lot of inconvenience. A group of girl students leaving for Jammu to take JUCET said that under existing law and order situation, it was very difficult for them to travel alone to Jammu. They demanded introduction of more courses in Kishtwar campus of the Jammu university. They said that when Jammu University Campus was functional at Kishtwar, the University authorities should have had no problem in opening of JUCET center at Kishtwar. When contacted, Imran Faooq PRO Jammu University said that there is no possibility of opening of JUCET center in Kishtwar for current session. He said that university in future will consider the demand and the possibility of opening of the JUCET center in Kishtwar. |
