| Senior Abdullah miffed with Omar over mishandling situation | | NC-BJP stand -off | | Abodh Sharma Jammu, June 18: In the backdrop of a bitter war of words between ruling National Conference and the BJP that started Monday last when BJP MLAs hijacked Chief Minister's function at Jammu club over pressing scarcity of Power and water in entire Jammu region, reports from National Conference Head Quarters suggest that Senior Abdullah has expressed his displeasure in unequivocal terms to Omar Abdullah over the incident and the chronology of events that followed. Sources within the NC leadership divulged to ET pleading anonymity that Farooq Abdullah was dejected over the manner in which Omar handled the situation. "He bottomlined the need to keep good relations with the Jammu leadership and told Omar that he had soured the relations which he nurtured for decades," sources informed. He also lamented that Omar could have shown pragmatism to negotiate the situation to his advantage. Sources also divulged that Farooq told Omar that it was legitimate for an MLA to come to CM for any of his personal issues and it was not pertinent to rake up an issue out of it in public. "He also warned Omar to keep his coterie off as it was misguiding him and making him unpopular amongst the people in Valley as well as in Jammu," a source disclosed. In an angry reaction to the onslaught of the BJP MLAs during the function, Omar had while targeting Ashok Khajuria said that he had been seeking personal favours from him and his father and never brought an issue of the interest of Jammu region. Meanwhile, it has been reliably learnt that Omar Abdullah is very unhappy with the CID bosses who failed to comprehend the situation at the venue where the CM was likely to preside over an important Government function. "It was the duty of the CID wing to report to the CM that seven MLAs of the BJP were present in the audience at Jammu club that day and that they might raise the issue of power and water which were confronting the people of Jammu for the last some days," a source disclosed. |
