srinagar, June 18: Weather remained pleasant as maximum temperature was below normal due to rain and cloudy sky in the Kashmir valley. A Met department spokesman said here this afternoon that light to moderate rain or thundershowers would occur at a few places in Jammu and isolated places over Kashmir division during the next 24 hours. There could be isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers during subsequent four days, he said. He said due to rain and cloudy weather yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 27.1 degree, two degree below normal after light rain in summer capital, Srinagar. However, the minimum temperature was four notches above normal in the city. People woke up to yet another cloudy morning in the city. There was also light rainfall today. Weather remained pleasant in the Kashmir valley for the second day today due to light to moderate rain and cloudy sky. It was raining at world famous ski resort of Gulmarg, a hotel owner said over phone. He said despite the rain a large number of tourists were out on slopes and also enjoying the Gandola Cable Car ride. The sky was cloudy and there was light rains early in the morning a report from Sonamarg and Pahalgam, base camp of holy Amarnath cave shrine, where the annual yatra will commence from June 28. |
