BSNL, media , others switch over to generators due to power failure

Srinagar, June 18: Due to another power breakdown in some parts of the civil lines, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), media offices, government press and other have to switch over to generators in Jammu & Kashmir today. Bemina main power grid official said there could be some local problems in the transmission lines as normal power supply was going on from the grid to entire city as per schedule. Power went off in some parts of the city, particularly in Barbar Shah area, feeding to BSNL, media offices, including UNI, AFP, daily Jagran, government press and office of Joint director state information department since this morning. The main BSNL office, including telephone exchange, a number of other government offices and media organisations besides shopkeepers had to switch over to generators. There was also power failure for hours yesterday also, residents alleged and said it has now become a daily routine. However, the local Power Development Department (PDD) officials said there was some major fault in the transmission line and efforts are going to rectify it
