Udhampur, June 18: Haryana wrestler, Harikesh and Abdul Ghani of Mallerkotla in Punjab shared the 34th edition of the Rustam-e-Bhagani dangal, organised by the Dangal Committee Bhagani in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association at Bhagani in block Bhalwal in Udhampur.
Earlier, the title bout between these two wrestlers remained undecided even after 25 minutes long contest. It resulted into these top wrestlers shared a whopping Rs 61,000 prize money presented by chief guest, Rakesh Wazir, state general secretary of the BSP. He was accompanied by president of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Sarpanch and Mohd Anwar Khan. In total, 47 bouts were decided in this day-long dangal. For the second main bout, Benia of J&K Police defeated Pardeep of Patiala in Punjab. While Benia got Rs 31,000, Pardeep presented with Rs 20,000 runners-up prize. In third main bout, Vinod of Khanna emerged winner beating Sukha of Rajasthan while fourth bout went to Lalli of Garh Shanker in Punjab after he trounced Ajay of Khanna.
The fifth main bout between Roshan Lal of J&K Police and Rita of Patiala remained undecided. In sixth bout, Jakker of Sarore beat Major of Ludhiana while seventh bout won by Farooq of Sarore beating Parveen of Khanna.
Members of organizing committee and those technical officials who helped in smooth conduct of dangal were Sarpanch Mohd. Anwar Khan, Bittu Raina, Master Ali Akbhar, Hazi Mohd. Ashraf, Master Bittu Fung, Sham Singh, Sham Lal Sharma, Galli Raina, Hazi Mohd. Shaffi, Shiv Ram (Panch), Des Raj, Master Mohd. Yousaf, Krishan Gopal, Numberdar Mohd. Sharif, Chowkidar Faring, Bansi Lal Verma, Babu Ram Verma, Puran Chand, Sanjay Dutt, Master Bhag Mal, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Deepak Wazir, Capt.(Retd) Lehar Singh, Mohd. Fareed, Mulk Raj, Prem Verma, Allah Mai (Ranga), Murli Dhar (Munna) and Raj Hussian.
