JAMMU, Aug 12: Dogra Kranti Dal (DKD) will launch 'Quit Jammu' movement soon against continued neglect of political and social issues concerning Jammu Pradesh and overarching sway of Kashmiri dominance in every respect. The issues concerning Jammu Pradesh have been relegated to back ground including employment, attempts at raising religious sentiments, promotion of Dogri language development of Jammu Pradesh etc. Keeping these issues in mind, we have decided to launch 'Quit Jammu' movement which in first phase would take assertive action against outsiders manning Jammu posts in different departments including Central and State Government, said Kailash Mohan, newly appointed Convenor DKD in a press conference here today. He said that Jammu Pradesh which has been the harbinger of nationalist forces and maintained communal harmony in worst times has been at the receiving end for long. The long pending problems like issues of PoK, West Pakistan, 1947, 65, 71 refugees, Doda, Talwara migrants etc have not been solved till date due to anti-Jammu policies of the State and the Central Government, he said. He announced that DKD would recruit 5,000 volunteers who would spread out among different corners of Jammu Pradesh and involve people in its 'Quit Jammu' Movement against discrimination and unresponsive government towards Jammu Pradesh. Mohan said that DKD would undertake the issues facing the people of Jammu Pradesh including unemployment, under development, unresponsive administration in government offices, step-motherly treatment to Dogri language, Dogra heritage and ignoring Jammu youth in every respect. He quoted the recent example of employment of Valley based youth on Udhampur-Katra Railway tack and said that DKD had already launched an agitation against the Central Government decision and would intensify its agitation in the near future. He said that DKD would take up these issues on priority basis and seek its redressal through 'Assertive Action'. He said that even private industries who are seeking Industrial Package/benefits are not honouring the commitment towards unemployed youth of Jammu. . Anil Rakwal was also present in the press conference. |
