Conceals more, reveals less

JAMMU, Aug 12: If one is looking out for any minute details regarding downloads, notifications of jobs and tenders on the official website of Central University-Jammu (CU-J) then a big disappointment awaits the visitors to this institution's official page.
Even though it is the age of information technology where minuscule turn of events are disseminated with the blink of an eye, the website of CU-J fail to update the state's internet users and for that matter of the other parts of the country as well as abroad.
Astonishingly, the official page of CU-J 'www.cujammu.ac.in' is out of order for quite some time now as the visitors to this site are unable to secure desired information even after clicking downloads for advertisements, tenders, job opportunities or official notifications over and over again.
The visitors to this site, however, come across a message of 'PAGE UNDER CONSTRUCTION' which appears on screen after clicking the 'downloads' section.
Perhaps, the website of CU-J is the only official website of a reputed University in the country which instead of providing information to the users is out of order for a period well beyond months.
Till the filing of this report, this scribe kept on clicking the official website of CU-J for the last several days but every time a message appears on the screen "Page Under Construction".
It is only the account of the last few days perhaps this website is undergoing 'treatment' since long.
The flash on the computer screen reminds one the times when technology was not so advanced where rectifying any technical flaw could be a cumbersome process but in this fast paced world of communication, if an official website of a Central University remains in limbo for so, it is certainly a cause of concern for students and job seekers.
The 'tech savvy' Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who frequently 'tweets' and knows the power of internet should take notice of the 'half information' or 'no information' being supplied on the official web site of CU-J as online information from such a temple of learning is out of bounds for the net subscribers since it is encountering serious problems.
