Srinagar, Aug 12: Five female students allegedly involved in multi-mission cash-for-paper scam in Common Entrance Test 2012 surrendered before Special Anti-Corruption Judge Kashmir, Mohan Lal Manhas. The girls were sent to judicial custody till August 20 when the main case has been posted by the court. On August 1, the Crime Branch of Police, investigating the scam allegedly architecture by former BOPEE chairman Mushtaq Ahmad Peer, filed last supplementary charge sheet, naming eight more as accused. It named the accused as Abdul Hameed Bhat son of Ghulam Ahmad Bhat of Kralteng Sopore, Suhail Ahmad Wani son of Sonaullah Wani of Nanil Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Tantray son of Muhammad Shaban Tantray of Wanbal Rangreth Srinagar, Mehvish Bashir daughter of Bashir Ahmad Tantray of Wanbal Srinagar, Dr Parveen wife of Muhammad Shafi Bhat, Beenish Bhat daughter of Muhammad Shafi Bhat, both residents of Qayoom Colony Rawalpora Srinagar, Dr Sabina Wife of Showkat Hussain Ahanger, Mansha daughter of Showkat Hussain Ahanger, both residents of Hafeez Colony Peerbagh here. With the filing of the charge sheet, the total number of accused in CET-2012 cash-for-paper paper has risen to 60. |
