Pulwama, August 12: The Inner Call, forum for Evolution, Development and Awareness organized a youth oriented program at Pulwama to mark International Youth Day today to raise awareness of youth issues across the world. The theme of the program was "Youth and Mental Health". Roma Wani, Chairperson The Inner call while describing youth as the foundation and work force of any nation said that it is important that society wakes up to the fact that youth is undergoing stress and even when they are conscious of their mental condition do not share it due to fear of 'stigma', 'discrimination' and being 'labeled' as incompetent. Affan Yesvi, Secretary, The Inner Call, In his address said, "The world cannot heal itself. Doing nothing is not an option. If we compromise, we cannot change anything; therefore Fools multiply when wise men are silent. Darkness rules when light are absent. Youth have the potential, power and opportunity to influence and change the world." He also challenged the youth by saying, "Believe in yourself, fight your fears, accept your failures and prepare for the best." The program served as a motivation for all the girls who attended. The locals appreciated the efforts of The Inner Call to educate the youth to raise awareness about youth issues especially among the females as sometimes they feel weaker than the males and also feel that men get more importance whereas women perform their tasks better in society. |
