Jammu, Aug 12: Strongly reacting to statement of Union Home Minister Raj Nath Singh for the implementation of PM's package amounting Rs1618.40 Crores announced in 2008, Kashmiri Pandit Conference ( KPC ) said that package for return and rehabilitation in the valley would be meaningless till they are rehabilitated with writ of Indian constitution. Kundan Kashmiri , President Kashmiri Pandit Conference ( KPC ) while addressing his party activists at New Delhi reacting to statement of Union Home Minister Raj Nath Singh for the implementation of PM package amounting rupees1618.40 crores announced in 2008 by previous Govt at the centre or revised one for return and rehabilitation of displaced KPs at their previous locations in the valley. Recalling that community already has rejected the said rehabilitation package as this package is linked with the return of Displaced KPs to previous locations. "This was the reason that not a single family of displaced KP community opted for rehabilitation in practical at respective previous locations in Kashmir valley from the last five years, despite an amount of Rs 8.35 Crore had released to the state Govt by centre to start with, as an advance, for the said purpose in 2008-2009.. KPC chief further stated that return of KP,s to valley is a sensitive issue and needs to be fully debated and taken very seriously in view of ground realities of Kashmir valley as well as demands and activities of Hurriyat, National Conference, PDP and others which are all separatist in nature and want to take Kashmir away from India. He said neither situation is congenial for KPs return nor KPs would again like to live in uncertainty, fear and subdued conditions after giving great sacrifices and been in exile last over two decades. He said this would not be possible till they are rehabilitated as per their wishes and aspirations after abrogation of Article 370. KPC Chief appealed the state and centre governments to consider and accept the following demands of Displaced KP,s which will work as a solution to the entire problems of Kashmiri pandits. Highlighting demands, he reiterated the demand of rehabilitation of KP,s with writ of Indian constitution at the land of Kashyap (Kashyap Home Land), abrogation of Article 370 at the earliest, Commission of enquiry to be constituted to probe for genocides and mass exodus of KPs, Shrine and temple bill to be passed in Assembly at the earliest, Grant of at least three assembly constituencies carved out for KP community in the valley, Distress sale of KP,s land and properity since 1990 to be declared null and void, Rehabilitation of over aged youths by granting cash assistance of rupees twenty five lakhs and other facilities, Medical aid and assistance to those KP,s who are suffering with serious diseases. |
