Jammu, Aug 12 In a Public Interest Litigation filed by Vasu Dubey regarding violation of Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000 read with various provisions of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 and seeking direction to implement guidelines issued by the Supreme Court, Division Bench of High Court comprising Justice Virender Singh and Justice Tashi Rabstan took serious note and observed that District Magistrate has not filed the status report and granted one week's time to District Magistrate Jammu to file status report and further observed that if the status report is not filed within week's time, District Magistrate Jammu shall cause his presence in person. When the PIL came-up for hearing, it was brought to notice of Division Bench by Govt Advocate that SSP Jammu has filed his compliance report in the registry, on this Division Bench directed Registry to tag the said report with PIL. Division Bench took serious note that District Magistrate has not filed by the status report and granted one weeks' time to District Magistarte for filling his status report in compliance to Order dated July 8, 2014 and exempted him for appearing in person for today atleast, making it very clear that in case the compliance report is not filed within the aforesaid period only, he shall cause his presence in person.
