Kathua, Aug 18: Nav Kathua Railway Station Nirmaan Samiti today met Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (independent Charge), Union Government at Mehta Palace Kathua in a function organized by the local unit of Bhartiya Janta Party. The Samiti members have also appealed the Union Minister to take the project to its logical conclusion. The Minister has apprised the Samiti that the project has already been submitted to the Railway Ministry with a request for the survey of the project but this time the Ministry could not include it in the list of "New Survey" in the Railway Budget but he will again approach the Ministry to carry forward the project so that this new alternate track can see the day of light. Dr Singh has also invited the Samiti members to New Delhi so that a meeting can be arranged with the Railway authorities for better understanding of the project. Dr Singh reiterated his commitment to develop Kathua as an important Industrial hub in line with neighboring Ludhiana and Jallandhar cities and to improve the rail connectivity to Kathua. Samiti was represented by Rajinder Pacifist, Verinder Sharma, Sanjeev Verma, Amrish Sharma, Sunil Sharma, Sachin, Jagdish and Bunty Bhola. |
