| JU VC turns recruiting agent for political masters | | Senior politician's relative adjusted as Physiotherapist | | K Koushal JAMMU, Aug 18: The Vice Chancellor (VC) of Jammu University (JU) Mohan Pal Singh Ishar has turned to be a recruiting agent for the political masters which seems evident from a recent appointment in health centre of Jammu University where the relative of a senior politician has been adjusted as physiotherapist. The appointed blue eyed relative of the senior politician and close relative of the ruling Cabinet Minister has been appointed today. The student organisations have resented the appointment. They have informed the Raj Bhavan about the development, sources said. The appointment is seen as an attempt by the Vice Chancellor to appease the political masters as he is left with just six months period in the varsity and the same adjustment can offer him another one or two years extension in the varsity. The incumbent Vice Chancellor has been charged with series of corruption and bungling issues including the bungling in construction works, tendering in Indian Science Congress event held in the varsity last year and biased attitude towards some touts in the varsity campus who are actually handling the affairs of the varsity. Student Scholar Joint Action Committee (SSJAC) spearheading the agitation against the VC for his biased attitude has already conveyed the same information to the Raj Bhavan adding the VC will further try his level best to adjust more blue eyed in future and asked the Raj Bhavan to maintain a vigil over the same. Student Scholar Joint Action Committee further appealed for constitution of a search committee to check all the bungling and favour done by the incumbent VC so that the same could be stopped. Pertinently the appointment of blue eyed is not confined up to the main campus of the varsity but the offsite campuses of the Jammu University as an employee B.Sc Forestry namely Manzar has been appointed as Field Assistant whereas the requisite qualification for the post is B.Sc Agriculture and if sources are to be believed the varsity is contemplating to appoint the same employee as Land Development Officer (LDO) against the norms. |
