| Congress sore over CM's arbitrary slashing of power tariff | | Demands Cabinet meet immediately | | Javaid Naikoo
Srinagar, Aug 18 : Terming the announcement in reduction of electricity tariff by Chief Minister without a cabinet meet unjustified, state Congress today said that they want meeting of the state Cabinet immediately. Talking to Early Times, state congress vice president, Ghulam Nabi Monga today said that Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah's decision on the eve of Independence Day to reduce electricity tariff by 12% was arbitrary as such a decision cannot be taken without discussion in the state cabinet, especially in a coalition government. He said that state congress wants cabinet meet within hours to solve some long pending issues of people. "we have some important issues to solve in the cabinet meet which are associated with daily lives of common masses. we have long pending issue of employees, issues about refugees of Pakistan settled in parts of Jammu and issues of other refugees, issues related with sarpanch and Numberdars etc and unemployment as well to discuss in cabinet meet." added state congress vice President. He also said that Chief Minister is delaying cabinet meet even as Congress is insisting on a cabinet meet repeatedly. Pertinently, Congress is perturbed over Omar's announcement on slashing power tariff and also that of National Conference additional general secretary,Dr Mustafa Kamaal who while talking to a local news agency on Sunday termed Congress as a 'junior partner' of the state coalition and asked its leadership not to dictate terms to National Conference. |
