Batote, Aug 18: On the occasion of Janamashtami, a Jhanki was taken out in Batote market, organized by Sanatan Dharam Sabhha, Batote.
According to press release, the bhajan singing and dancing of devotees from Batote town and surrounding villages marched in the Jhanki carrying a cradle with an idol of baby lord Krishna in a chariot. The Jhanki route up to Tourist Bungalow was dotted with the various stalls of Sharbat, Phalahar ( fruits, kheer and other eatables) for fasting devotees.
A Bhandara for the Machail Mata yatries organized by the Sarva Shakti Seva Samiti also marked the occasion.
At Gita Bhavan here the week long Shrimad Bhagwat Gita Path commenced on August 18, concluded today with a Havan under the aegis of Swami Bhuvneshvari Devi. Besides a Bhandara a programme of Bhajan Kirtan till midnight to mark the Janaashtmi shall be held at Gita Bhavan here today. The Janaashtmi Jhanki was taken out in Ramban city yesterday. |
