| Jats lament Govt for neglecting community's issues | | | | JAMMU, Aug 18: While appreciating Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his announcement of 5 percent reservation to pahari speaking people and 4 percent to OBC, the All India Jat Mahasabha (AIJM) credited the CM of being a protagonist but regret that CM failed to address the issues concerning Jat community. Addressing a press conference here today, the J&K President AIJM Manmohan Singh along with all the Tehsil Presidents of Jat Mahasabha and refugees leaders said such kind of aid to these people was necessary but the decision reflects his inclination to strengthen his vote bank by addressing those areas where he hopes to get a response and ignoring other people and their similar demands. People of state have been suffering of many such issues since long but why is that CM find concerns of pahari people legitimate and similar demands of justice of Jat community and refugees displaced people of previous wars, illegitimate and not worthy of response from Government. Choudhary said the relief package which was decided by the revenue department was never even taken up in cabinet to be approved despite Government's claim to provide to help to these people. He said while central Government has granted jats of nine states OBC category but jats of J&K are not included because of our caste. |
