| Handover Kashmir to Army till militancy decimated: VHP | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 18: Expressing serious concern over increasing incidents of militancy and Islamic fundamentalism in Kashmir Valley, Vishav Hindu Parishad (VHP) today demanded handing over of Kashmir to Army to flush out terrorists completely from there. The NDA Government should take a tough stance against terrorism and it should not pursue the policies of previous UPA Government in this regard, VHP patron and senior leader, Dr Rama Kant Dubey, its general secretary, Dr Sham Gupta, B K Gupta and, Dr Joginder Paul told reporters here. Till militancy is not eliminated completely from valley situation will not improve in Kashmir but it will deteriorate day y day, said Dr Dubey, adding to rid Kashmir from terrorists it should be handed over to Army. He said Government should take a tough stance against subversive elements in Kashmir and Pak agents active in Valley should be brought to book. The previous UPA Government had given full concessions to separatists in Valley and the NDA should not pursue this policy as it will be inimical to national cause, he added. Dr Dubey while taking serious exception to Pak High Commissioner's invitation to separatists for talks said Government should take serious note of the same and it should not allow talks between Pak High Commission and separatists. The separatists be arrested who visit New Delhi for holding talks with Pak High Commission or deported to Pakistan as they are posing a grave threat to national unity and integrity this way. He also demanded that in view of the role of Pak High Commission India should cancel secretary level talks with Pakistan. It is unfortunate that Pakistan on one side is holding talks while on the other side it is indulging in heavy motor shelling on borders, he added. He said Prime Minister Narindera Modi has extended hand of friendship with Pakistan but the same should not be at the cost on national unity and integrity. The VHP leader while taking the State Government to task said that it has failed to take action against those elements who unfurled the Pak flags in Kashmir and also it could not debar the anti social elements in hoisting Pak flags at Kounsarnag. |
