Jammu, Aug 18: The 2nd District Anantnag Rugby Sevens Championship concluded with the holding of prize distribution function in sub-junior, junior and senior categories at Army Goodwill School Pahalgam, here.
In this three-day event, around 250 boys and girls representing different teams contested for the top honours. This championship was organised by the District Anantnag Rugby Association under the aegis of J&K Rugby Association and sponsored by the State Sports Council.
In the valedictory function, Principal of the host, Army Goodwill School, Anurag Dass, was chief guest, who gave away the winners and runners-up trophies as also other individual prizes.
Speaking to the gathering, Principal appreciated the efforts put in by the Association for successful conduct of the event. He also thanked Commanding Officer of Ist RR, Colonel, Rajmeet Singh for the support.
Among others present were secretary of the district association, Ajaz Hassan and general secretary of the state association, Irfan Aziz Butta.
The Results: BOYS: Senior Men: Super Sevens Club, Ist; Team Lidru Club, 2nd and Seven Avengers Club, 3rd. Sub-junior: Fury Club, Ist; Hunks Rugby Club, 2nd and Black Tigers Club, 3rd. Juniors: Red Bulls Club, Ist ; Govt Boys Middle School, Nai Basti, 2nd and Govt Boys High School, Bagh, 3rd.
GIRLS: Senior Women: Brave Hearts Rugby Club, Ist and Little Flowers Rugby Club, 2nd. Sub-junior: Cute Girls, Ist and Little Cubs Rugby Club, 2nd. Juniors: Junior Radiants Rugby Club, Ist and Junior Cats Club, 2nd. |
