Tawi Trekkers team takes oath

Jammu, Oct 2: The new management team of Tawi Trekkers J&K, elected on August 30, was administered oath of office and assumed the charge on the foundation day of the club here today.
The oath was administered to the new office bearers and executive members by founder member and advisor of the Club, Prof. Lalit Magotra.
Speaking to the gathering, outgoing secretary of the Club, Ram Khajuria said that Tawi Trekkers J&K was formed on October two in 1982 to initiate people into outdoor life and to inculcate in them a spirit of adventure and love of nature as at time there was no such organisation.
Later, newly elected general secretary of the Club, Shawetica Khajuria thanked the members for the confidence and faith reposed in her to elevate her to the position. She assured the members to work with full dedication and solicited the blessings, guidance and cooperation of members to make Tawi Trekkers J&K.
Meanwhile, the J&K Sport Climbing team that won six medals, including a gold and two silver, in the 20th North Zone Sport Climbing competition held at IIT, Kanpur, was also felicitated on the occasion.
