Kathua, Oct 2: On the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Kathua, on the eve of coming festivals special squad of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department Kathua headed by T P Singh Assistant Director, inspected various establishments of Kathua town, Kalibari, Lakhanpur area, Barnoti and highway.
The team checked about 47 commercial establishments like Hotels, Sweet Shops, Vegetable/Fruit Shops/Mutton/Chicken Shops and Karayana Shops during the checking. Out of which, team booked seventeen violators under various act and imposed fine Rs 33800 from the defaulters.
Despite this, team checked Kerosene oil depot of Barnoti, C T M area & Govindsar. Team found that Three Kerosene oil dealers has not displayed rate list & maintained proper record. As a result, team stopped the allotments of the three Kerosene oil dealers and issued show cause notice to them.
The team also checked City's hotels, marriage palace & issued necessary instructions to them. Last week said team also raided shops & K-oil depots & impose penalty of Rs 14000.
Officers of team directed all shopkeepers, hoteliers, sweets shop owners and Snack manufacturers not to use domestic L P G Cylinders for commercial purpose and display rate lists on their respective establishments.
Failing which strict action under L P G Act/Price display act and Essential Commodity Act shall be registered against the violators", team warned. |
