Educational Institutes launch cleanliness drive

Jammu, Oct 2: To pay rich tribute To apostle of non violence Mahatma Gandhi, a function was organized today at Himalayan College Rajouri. A large number of students of the college and teachers participated in the event. The Program was jointly chaired by Pankaj Chandan Project Director WWF Pir Panchal range, Prof Mohd Sharif Chouhan Principal HCE & Dr Abdul Mabood V. Principal of College. While speaking on the occasion the chief guest stressed upon the students to recall the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi based on peace, Non-violence & communal harmony. The students & teachers of the college also expressed their views on the life & teachings of Mahatma Gandhi & Lal Bahadur Shastri the great socio political leader of the country. Later Swachh Rajouri Mission (Clean Rajouri Mission) was also launched and all the students, teachers and guests pledged to remain committed towards cleanliness & devote time for this for making Rajouri clean. The students of the College also participated in campus cleanliness & adjoining areas. They also pledged that they will follow Mahatma Gandhi teachings in their lives and will propagate the message of peace, non-violence & communal harmony across the district.
The students, Staff and Management of KPS celebrated Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan along with birthday of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. Er. Nirmal Jit Singh chairman was the Chief Guest while Harpreet Kour ,Sect. KPS and Manjula Dogra, Principal K.P.S were also present on the occasion.
While delivering his address, Er. Nirmal Jit Singh Chairman ( K.E.T) threw light on the lives and achievements of father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi and. Lal Bahadur Shastri, 2nd P.M. of India. He also explained to the students the importance and relevancy of swasch Bharat, the missionary campaign announced by Narindra Modi Ji, the prime minister of india, Especially on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti , the ligand of the world.
R.M. Public School launched cleanliness drive. Chairman of R.M. Public Rameshwar Mengi along with trustee Reeta Mengi and Principal of R.M. Public School Ravinder Kour swept themselves the school premises. The Students of R.M. Public School also joined them. They cleaned the entire periphery and surrounding of the school including the main road of Sainik Colony.
On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and in connection with Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Inter House activities were organized in the premises of Nav Adarsh Higher Secondary School Kathua. Students cleaned their class-rooms , school premises and its surroundings.
Students of different houses recited poems related to Mahatma Gandhi. After that an inter-house quiz competition was organized.
Army Public School Ratnuchak launched the Swachh Bharat, Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan in the school premises, on the birth centenary of Mahatama Gandhi. The programme commenced with hoisting of the national flag by Brig Vikram Kumar, Chairman APS Ratnuchak accompanied by the Principal Sonal Sharma.
The students and staff took the Swachhta Shapath under the guidance of the school Captain.
Swachh Bharat' campaign commenced at Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu to strength, a call given by Prime Minister of India for a Swachh Bharat as a movement to realize the dream of Mahatma Gandhi of Clean India.
The School has planned varied activities and events in the area including the School campus, roads, adjoining area dispensary, Temple Complexes, Shops & Houses as a part of national cleanliness drive. Principal cum Vice Chairperson Rohini Aima had an interactive session with the staff and students of the school for sensitizing them to participate whole heartedly to make it possible.
Government Degree College (GDC) Paloura today organized a 'Swachh Bharat Abhuyan' rally, which was flagged off by college principal Dr. Savitri Sharma.
According to press release, NCC cadet and NSS students of the college also presented patriotic songs and paid tribute to mahatma Gandhi.
The Cadets and volunteers carried the posters and banners with the slogans clean India, Green India and my dream India good sanitation good health.
A pledge was taken by the students, staff that "I take oath that I will remain conscious about sanitary practices I will start the cleanliness drive from myself, my family, my village, my neighborhood and my work place".
Prof. Karan Singh Bhau (NCC Officer) Prof. Jugal Kishore Sharma (Dean Students Welfare) and Dr. Seema Sudan (Staff Secretary) Principal Dr. Savitri Sharma highlighted the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi on this occasion.
A debate competition on "Impact of Gandhian philosophy on present day generation" was organized at Gandhi Memorial College of Education Raipur, Bantalab,Jammu (A Unit Of Hindu Education Society Kashmir Regd.)
According to press release, the programme started with traditional lighting of lamp by Prof. Sunil Tiku, Member Finance(HESK) who was the chief guest on this occasion along with Shri Virender Raina Member EB (HESK) & Prof G. L Koul principal, GMCEJ.
Today's Inter School Debate programme was also marked by patriotic songs, dances and poems by the studentsog GMCEJ. The students of the school also participated in cleanliness drive.
The program concluded with a prize Distribution Function. Arstu Sharma from project model school was adjusdged as First whereas, second and third Positions were bagged by Shramika Raina and Taniya Jamwal. Parth Raina, Riya Raina, Ayushi Sharma and Surbi Mehra got the consolation prize. Yasir Ahmed and Dharni Tickoo from Dept MCMP of GMCEJ compared the program.
NITS Polytechnic, Indira Nagar, Miran Sahib, Jammu organized a special assembly to pay rich tributes to the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.
According to press release, more than 700 students , 100 staff members , HOD's of various dept of the institute along with the management participated in the event.
Second battalion of NCC Girls of GCW, Parade participated in Swachch Bharat Abhiyan.
According to press release, nearly 100 NCC cadets of college cleaned the roads and area around Kachi Chawni and Parade Ground.
Principal of GCW Parade Dr. Hemla aggrawal and C.O of NCC Girls Col. . Rajesh Kumar addressed the students and exhorted them to keep their premises clean.
The NSS unit of Government Degree College, Reasi organized three days cleanliness drive in the College campus in connection.
According to press release, Principal of the College Prof. Kaushal Samotra highlighted the role of trees for the survival of mankind. She emphasized on the importance of such programme in the college in general and for the society in particular.
The NSS Volunteers Tarsem , Shiwani , Suridhi who presented their views on Enviornment, Nature, Role of Society and importance of Tress were highly appericiated by the ordiance. During the drive NSS Volunteers sweated to the optimum capacity and dedication for the three days and gave the Campus a new look.
On occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and as part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan launched by Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi, all the faculty and other staff members of Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Sidhra, Jammu participated in the said programme and took a pledge to keep our surroundings clean and make our motherland litter free. Dr. R.P. Kudyar, Director-Principal, ASCOMS and Hospital, while welcoming all those present thanked everyone to have come all the way to college on a holiday for this occasion. He stressed upon the importance of cleanliness in our lives and desired that a special effort needs to be put in to achieve this goal. Dr. K.K. Pandita, President ASCOMS Medical Teachers Association (AMTA) administered the Cleanliness Pledge to all those present on the occasion. After the pledge ceremony all the staff members led by Director Principal kickstarted the drive by cleaning the premises of the hospital. The programme was attended by Dr. S.S. Soodan Director-Medical, HOD's of various departments Dr. M.N. Gupta, Orthopedics, Dr. Anil Gupta, Medicine, Dr. Nandita Mehta, Anaesthesia, Dr. Veena Gupta, Pulmonary Medicine, Dr. R.N. Dubey, Community Medicine, Dr. P Sadhotra, Ophthalmology, Dr. V J Chrungoo, Bio-Chemistry, Dr. Pavan Malhotra, Pharmacology, Professors, Associate Professor, Assistant Professors, Administrative staff and other hospital staff.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was observed at the District Institute of Education and Trainings (DIET) Jammu under the guidance and supervision of Mohinder Singh, Principal DIET Jammu today. The principal along with staff members took part in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in the office premises. The staff members took oath to keep the office premises and their surroundings (where they live) clean.
NSS unit of Government Degree Colleg Thannamandi today launched the cleanliness drive under the initiative of union government.
According to press release, Principal of college Dr B.B. Sharma along with the staff members and the students took active part in the cleanliness drive.
Colourful placards with slogans and messages were displayed by the students to spread the awareness of cleanliness among the masses. NSS volunteers cleaned the entire college campus.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. BB Sharma told the students to follow the path shown by the father of Nation Mahatma Ghandhi. Programme officer NSS Professor Saleem Ayaz Rather told students to make their surroundings Viz class room, play grounds clean not only for today but it should become a regular exercise so that we can have a clean environment for a better and healthy life tomorrow.
Gandhi Global Family (GGF) under the chairmanship of its convener Jammu province Mohammad Aslam Malik today celebrated 150th birth anniversary of father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi at Kishtwar. The program was held in the premises of District Congress Office Kishtwar in which large number of people from different walks of life participated and presented their views on the contribution of Mahatma Gandhi in India's freedom movement, his political, social and religious ideologies. Similar function was also organized by NSUI Kishtwar unit under the leadership of its District President Prakesh Singh Dadwal. The speakers on this occasion highlighted the role of non violence movement started by the Gandhi against British occupation and laid stress on maintaining peace and communal harmony.
Meanwhile Kishtwar Block of Rural Development Department under the leadership of Block Development Officer Kishtwar Qazi Masood organized cleanliness drive to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Beside BDO Kishtwar, majority of the staff members of block Kishtwar participated in the program. Students of Girls Higher Secondary School Kishtwar and Middle School Rahalthal Inderwal also organized cleanliness drive program and clean the school premises and its adjoining areas to join the "Swach Bharat" initiative of Prime Minister of India Narindra Modi.
