| IGSSS launches relief, rehabilitation programme for flood affected people of Kashmir | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Oct 2: Indo-Global Social Service Society (IGSSS) has launched a massive relief and rehabilitation programme in 70 flood affected areas of Sumbal Sonawari in Bandipora, Pattan and Singhpora in Baramulla and in some pockets of Srinagar city. Talking to media persons here, Yasir Qureshi, Regional Programme Manager IGSSS said that 16,000 families are being targeted for relief and 10,000 families for rehabilitation in three districts of Kashmir. He said that IGSSS is mobilizing its 350 community volunteers and 100 community leaders to facilitate the relief operations. "The relief operations are expected to start in the first week of October after assessment of the affected areas is completed. The relief would include WASH kits, blankets, solar lamps, dignity kits, cash for rations, school kits for children and kitchen utensils. IGSSS is being supported financially by Misereor, Islamic Relief India, Wethungerhilfe and Shabana & Faizal Foundation for relief and rehabilitation of flood affected families," said Yasir. Yasir said that senior management of IGSSS is already camping in Srinagar to assess the situation and facilitate the relief and rehabilitation programme. He said that it is IGSSS's commitment to be with the affected families in this hour of crisis and to mobilize more resources in the coming days for recovery and rehabilitation of the affected families.
