| Bovine smuggling bid foiled, 5 animals rescued | | | Early Times Report samba, Oct 2: Continuing its drive against bovine smuggling, the Police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid at Ghagwal in Samba district and rescued 5 bovines from the clutches of bovine smuggler while the hunt is on to nab the smuggler. Police spokesman said that on specific information a Police Party of Police Station Ghagwal headed by Inspector Surinder Khadyal, SHO Ghagwal under the supervision of Vijay Pal Singh, DySP (HQ) Samba intercepted a Mahindra load carrier bearing registration number JK08B-9070 at Ghagwal naka point. "on seeing police, the driver of vehicle abandoned the truck and escaped from the spot talking advantage of darkness, police said, adding, "during the search of the vehicle five bovine animals being transported illegally without permission were rescued by the police." A case under FIR No. 68/2014 u/s 188 of RPC and 2/3 PC Act stands registered at Ghagwal Police Station and further investigation is on. |
