Rajouri, Oct 7: Audacious Pakistan as is seemingly in no mood to deescalate the ongoing tensions on the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC) and is inviting Indian troops attention but all this have left inhabitants along LoC in Rajouri district to apprehend situation like before 2003 truce agreement when booming shells and rains of bullets had made their lives like hell.
Rajouri district has thick population near Line of Control in about 90 kilometer stretch from Tain bridge in Sunderbani to Bhimber Gali (BG) the meeting point of Rajouri-Poonch districts while places like Nowshera, jhangar, Lam, Keri, Veer Bhadreshawar (PB), Thandikassi, Ghambir, Kangagali, Tarkundi, Mangalnar, Naka, Panjgrain etc villages are under the direct firing range of Pakistan army and the locals of these areas have been the victims of heavy shelling by the Pakistan army now and then. Before 2003 truce agreement most of the people migrated to safer places and had faced many difficulties.
If reports are to be believed army deployment along the LoC have been mobilized to respond effectively and with heavy hands to ensuing unprovoked and worst ceasefire violations by the Pakistan troopers. Reports also said that pressure has been mounting on the Union Government and especially on Ministry of Defence from all corners of the country to teach lesson to Pakistan if it does not stop firing on the borders particularly on civilians areas.
Heavy shelling and firing by the Pakistan army has created an atmosphere of terror and uncertainty among the people living in RS Pura (Jammu) , Bhimber Gali (BG) including Balakot, Gold, Darana Lanjot , Sanjyot etc (Poonch). The border skirmishes always have left and will leave people in Rajouri district near LoC in Tarkundi, Seri Nagesh Batraigala, Peer Adheswar (PB) FDL 530 (Lam)Jhanger, Balwani, Kalal to face tough times or even forced to migrate to safer places if situation further worsens. Sources said that the district administration yet has not prepared for any such odd situation and in case of any emergency it (administration) may face unpleasant situation like during the recent natural calamity. At the time of filing this report heavy mortar shelling was continued in Balakot, Gold, Darana Lanjot areas in Balakot sector and people have been advised to take shelter at safer places.
Union government is said to be very enraged over this action of Pakistan and has asked the forces to retaliate strongly and not to go for any flag meetings.
When contacted by Early Times , AK Attri, IPS, DIG Rajouri-Poonch police range said that following heavy firing/shelling on the LoC in Poonch district all the SSPs, ASPs, SHOs, Police Post In-charges in both the districts have been asked to advise the people either to dug trenches or select safe places near their villages in order to meet any emergency.
